These events promise to be a spiritual journey of art, culture, and mindfulness that you won’t want to miss. 

The Monks will construct a Sand Mandala and offer a variety of events, highlighting many aspects of Tibetan culture. The Sand Mandala viewing hours open daily Monday through Saturday 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. 

Proceeds from our fundraising events benefit the Gaden Shartse Monastic College’s effort to preserve the educational, spiritual and cultural traditions of Tibet. Tax deductible donations accepted at all events. All events are on a donation basis

Sand Mandala Opening Ceremony ~ Join us for a mesmerizing Sand Mandala Opening Ceremony! Be prepared to immerse yourself in the sacred chants and the sound of ritual instruments. Witness the initial grains of sand delicately placed on the table, a precursor to the intricate creation of the Chenrezig Sand Mandala over the next five days. ~ suggested donation $10 – $20

A Day In The Life of a Monk & Live Dialectical Debate ~ A very beautiful and informative slideshow of what a monk’s daily life entails at the Gaden Shartse Monastery in exile, in South India, followed by a live and quite boisterous display of live monastic debate. ~ suggested donation $10 – $20

Chay Drul ~ Clearing Obstacles ~ Ritual ~ This powerful ritual helps remove obstacles that prevent one from achieving enlightenment. The Llama places colored strings and fabric (ritually fused to represent obstacles) on participants. Chenrezig Sand Mandala Dissolution Ceremony ~ Impermanence: Sand Mandala Closing ~ Be a part of this traditional blessing. The Chenrezig Mandala will be swept away purposely destroying the magnificent work of art. The lesson is that all things are impermanent . Participants receive a small piece of the Mandala. ~ suggested donation $10 – $20

He listens to the prayers of all sentient beings in times of challenge and difficulty. The purpose of the empowerment is to establish a close relationship with Chenrezig and to benefit from the almighty power of compassion. In this era of violence and mental instability, the blessing of Chenrezig is highly sought after, as it helps one to become more peaceful and compassionate, even with the state of current events. ~ suggested donation $20 – $30

Sang Puja ~ Smoke Blessing ~ Ritual ~ Lastly, the monks will offer a smoke blessing. The word Sang in Tibetan has the meaning of remove, take away: purified, cleared, cleansed, and awakened. This offering will take place on high ground so that the smoke can reach out as far as
