History of Bubbling Wells Ranch
A Story of Love, Luck & Unbreakable Spirit

The original cabin nestled in the hill side. The first hot water well in the foreground and located from what has remained the Main Well for the Ranch
An Ancient Legend Uncovered
In 1914, per the advice of the local native tribes, Cabot Yerxa dug a well outside of his cabin and discovered a seemingly unlimited source of hot, clean water under what he named “Miracle Hill” due to its exceptional quality and improbable existence.
The hot aquifer is heated by geothermal forces thousands of feet below the earth’s surface to temperatures up to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Wellness resorts and spas have long sprung up along this natural feature, dating as far back as the 1930s when Al Capone set up next door in what is now famously known as Two Bunch Palms.
For the first time, The Bubbling Wells Ranch has opened it’s gates to the public to experience.
EXCELLENT Based on 83 reviews Bryn2025-03-03 Bubbling Wells is honestly the best stay in the desert I've ever had! The property was magical, for many reasons. The seemingly endless land to explore & hike, all the artwork (I was blown away by the attention to detail), authentic historical features, multiple natural mineral hot springs, soaking tubs, multiple houses to choose from, lake, koi ponds, hammocks, grassy backyard, lots of trees & wildlife, a quaint little western town, views of the city...to name a few. You can even drink the tap water, which is a huge deal for me, being from LA. Got a super fun guided tour from the owner, David, who cares about the land immensely & is the most accommodating host we've ever had. The three dogs that live on the property are possibly my favorite part - they're the sweetest, beautiful & friendly. They help protect the property, love to be pet & cuddled (especially Blue - I'm in love) & may escort you on hikes. The experience & energy of staying on a nature preserve in the middle of the desert is incredible, such an amazing history & I've never felt more grounded. As an event planner, I'm inspired - so many possibilities! This is one of those places where you'll discover something new every time you go. Wish I never had to leave, I'll be going back as soon as possible. Check it out, you won't regret it & you'll want to return :) Olivia Love2025-03-03 Had a fantastic weekend stay at Bubbling Wells…what a magical place! A dreamy venue that is sure to satisfy anyone who is a true fan of rest and relaxation in a desert oasis. The hot springs, hammocks, and lovable roaming doggos (great walking companions) among the property will make it almost impossible for you to want to leave! David and his team are stellar! Recommend 10/10. Corey2025-03-02 This is the best kept secret in the desert. An adorable oasis with a natural hot spring. We were looking for something relaxing and low key and this exceeded our expectations. They offer day passes so we were able to visit for a few hours after a hike. John Carrillo2025-02-22 Bubbling Wells is such a unique experience, we just did a day pass but we will be returning for a longer stay after seeing this amazing 110 acre property. We felt like we entered an entirely different world, I highly recommend it. It had awesome hiking trails to walk the property and the hot springs pools was so quaint, not to mention, felt AMAZING! Loved all the little ponds on the property too. David the owner was so kind and welcoming that he shared with us a little history on the property and a personal guided tour of land and the amazing homes that are for rent for either a long weekend, a week or whatever is your desire…OMG, truly beautiful homes!!! I loved that it was just a short distance from Palm Springs. If you’re looking a little high desert retreat experience, do it! - We will be back! Mercury Michael2025-02-22 A Very Cool place with rustic vibe and remote feeling although pretty close to Palm Springs. The hot springs water was remarkably clear, delicsious and plentiful so everytime felt fresh and clean. The ponds were fun for the kids to paddle around little boat and watch the koi and critters in them. AND one of the real highlights for us was the three wonderful ranch dogs there. Max a husky, Cleo a tan pitbull sweetie, and Blue a cuddly playful pitbull were all really endearing and great protectors of the ranch! we Love dogs and my kids were so excited every day to see them in morning and have them around. For me as a dad it was really comforting knowing that these dogs were constantly doing the rounds and sniffing out any dangers my kids might have found on there own like a rattler or something coming in from desert. I knew if the dogs were around my kids were pretty well protected and wouldn't be unpleasantly surprised so long as they didn't go shoving there hands and feet under rocks or into holes etc. They did chew up one of our flip flops that got left out overnight but hey- that's just part of having dogs in my opinion and they were really a highlight of the trip and ranch experience for us! David and everyone there was very nice and helpful with any questions we had and everything went smoothly without stress. I look forward to going back next year and it really is a magical cool place that feels brimming with potential and energy. Stunning sunsets and nice walking trails around the ranch too! Decent gym with freeweights and a nautilus but no cardio equipment and swim pool wasn't functional but that wasn't our focus anyway. Thank you Pinwheel0 02025-02-18 Beautiful Views, Great Vibes, relaxing springs and best part of all were the people and pets. David was very hospitable, got us essentials that were missing from our air BNB. Best part are the 3 affectionate doggos that would great you in the morning and escort you around the ranch. Brianne Rogers2025-02-09 Wow this place is beautiful and the person who owns it is a gem. He showed us around the property and the hand-built house that is the location for weddings and other events. The walls inside the home have a gorgeous texture, there is just so much history on this land, and the hotspring was perfect. It's the only place with a warm and cold spring on the same property, which makes it very special. He has tubs set up for individuals and a few bigger areas for multiple people. The water comes in the perfect temperature and there's a cute little western town style area near the bottom hot springs, as well as a couple of Yurts for glamping. There is also a multiple person tub up near the house, and a great view if you hike to the top of the hill. Wonderful spot to decompress, and I can't wait to go back once it heats up a bit. I absolutely love it here, you should for sure check it out :) Respect this spot, it's truly a special place. Sam Nassar2025-02-08 A must visit to this desert oasis! The last year has been rough to say the least. Back surgery followed up by cancer. I can’t stress enough how much this place made me feel good again. The air was Clean and crisp. The night sky, bright, and beautiful. The beauty of nature all around, And of course the Hot Springs! I felt like I was being healed every time I got in it. The host was great, the accommodations were great, and the resident canines were awesome! I’m going back as often as possible. Thank you, David! Jason Kerestes2025-02-02 Outstanding experience! Impressed by the staff and the experience. Super comfy bed. Beautiful location. Highly recommend! Babeland Ladies Wear2025-01-26 I've been wanting to come to Bubbling Wells for the water and rich history ever since I learned about it years ago. David (the owner) and his staff are friendly, considerate, and incredibly respectful. As a hot spring afficionado and having been to at least 200 springs, I can really appreciate what was offered. A peaceful nature sactuary with birds, koi ponds, sculptures, natural hot spring water in rock tubs, gorgeous views, and lots of rustic elegance without the feeling of pretentiousness. Bubbling Wells is completely different from the rest of what Desert Palm Springs has to offer- no sterile rectangular swimming pools with treated spring water like every other resort. You get the peace and feel of a wild hot spring, but with convenience and beautiful lodging just a short walk away. Additionally, this is where hot water was first discovered in town, ie., Miracle Hill. If you want a hot spring experience like nothing else, book your stay here first!
